When it comes to mental health, it is important to know that it starts from within. In taking care of oneself, one gets to take care of others as well. Mental health can be seen as a multi-sectoral approach where one must be surrounded with a good support system and their own safe space. In PLDT and Smart’s recent mental health talk series, it empowered the youth of Tarlac to be co-champions in advocating for mental health and wellness. Called ‘Better Today with Tarlac’, the talk series, which premiered last August 6, has since garnered over 15,000 views.

To commemorate the World Day Against Trafficking in July, PLDT and Smart Communications, Inc. showcased efforts and digital solutions in curbing online sexual abuse and exploitation of children during the Department of Justice Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (DOJ-IACAT) online forum on “Prevention and Elimination of Human Trafficking Activities in the Cyberspace.”

In the middle of a pandemic, emotions remain high. Sometimes, it’s all over the place. But mostly, it demands to be felt. Providing mental health support to its employees, PLDT and Smart launched its Mind Your Health program last year, which is a series of online talks that invite clinical experts and mental health advocates to talk about various mental health issues that range from dealing with mental illnesses and mental health advocacy campaigns.
