MANILA, Philippines, 2nd October 2014 - Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (“PLDT”) (PSE:TEL) (NYSE:PHI), the leading telecoms operator in the Philippines, disclosed that Rocket Internet AG (“Rocket”) announced the successful pricing of its initial public offering (the “IPO”) at €42.50 per share.

Top officials of PLDT, Smart Communications and Germany-based global internet company Rocket Internet met in Berlin this week to discuss strategic and operational matters following PLDT's recent €333 million investment in Rocket Internet, largest and fast-growing retail e-commerce player outside the United States and China. A Philippine-based global joint venture between the two groups is also being set up to focus on mobile commerce and mobile payment solutions for emerging markets.
