MANILA, Philippines, APRIL 24, 2014 – Telecoms leader PLDT has invested approximately P2 billion in the past year to bring the country’s first Time-Division Duplex-Long Term Evolution (TD-LTE) technology that enables high-speed wireless broadband services to Filipino homes.

PLDT Technology Group Head Rolando Peña said PLDT has built TD-LTE sites from Cagayan province in Northern Luzon to Davao del Sur in Mindanao to complement efforts to broadband the entire archipelago via fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) and Next Generation Network (NGN) services.

Telecoms leader’s wireless Internet for the home triples revenues MANILA, Philippines, April 14, 2014 – PLDT HOME Bro, the telecoms leader’s wireless broadband service for the home, triples business, resulting in a total of P4.5 billion revenues for 2013.

HOME Bro is a service that provides subscribers with high-speed broadband for the home. It uses PLDT’s nationwide network to wirelessly deliver internet service to Filipino families.

The country’s largest online competition recently concluded as four student teams and four teachers from all over the country competed in the 6th PLDT myDSL Broadband Quiz. Tested on their computer and internet prowess, Salvador Besares Jr. and Maveric Molina from Ramon Avanceña National High School in Iloilo were named Grand Champions in the student’s category, while Mary Joyce Gazo of Potrero National High School in Malabon won in the teacher’s category. Winners were awarded with cash prizes, as well as a computer showcase for their respective schools.
