National Power taps PLDT ALPHA Enterprise for employee mobile communications

MANILA, Philippines, August 17, 2012 – State-owned National Power Corp. (Napocor) has appointed PLDT ALPHA Enterprise to supply and deliver Smart pre-paid cellular mobile telephone services to its employees as part of efforts to better manage its operational expenses.

PLDT VP for Corporate Relationship Management Renato Castaneda said the multi-million peso contract will be good for two years. "With a pre-paid cellular phone service, Napocor can now monitor loads that are provided to its employees based on the approved amount per job grade plan," Castaneda explained.

PLDT becomes first PH company with investment grade ratings from global credit watchers

MANILA, Philippines, July 9, 2012 – Telecoms leader PLDT has earned the distinction of being the first Philippine company to be given investment grade credit ratings by all three (3) major international credit watchers, following a recent upgrade by Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services.
 

“We are gratified that PLDT is the first corporate in the country to obtain such ratings from the three major global credit watchers – S&P, Moody’s Investors Service, and Fitch Ratings,” said PLDT President Napoleon Nazareno.

PLDT’s WiFi zone powers more Subic Bay establishments

MANILA, Philippines – Leading telecommunications company PLDT and subsidiary SubicTel signed up an agreement recently with 10 Subic merchants to provide the latter with premium WiFi service, increasing to 125 the total number of establishments currently powered by PLDT’s WiFi zones in the Subic Bay Freeport area.
 

PLDT opens VITRO Data Center Cebu

CEBU, Philippines, June 27, 2012 – Leading telecommunications provider PLDT officially launched its first data center to operate outside of Luzon with VITRO Data Center in Cebu.

Housed in the PLDT Compound in Mandaue City, the third facility in the VITRO network of data centers will benefit enterprise businesses based in Cebu and other provinces in the Visayas region by providing full information and data management and telecommunication services.
