PLDT rolls out Wifi zone add-on service

MANILA, Philippines, October 24, 2011 – PLDT, the country’s leading telecommunications company, is setting a network of Wifi zones in Metro Manila establishments to provide its myDSL and landline service subscribers unlimited Wifi internet connection even outside their homes or offices.

"PLDT WiFi Zones" are being set up in restaurants, malls, gas stations, bars, salons, PC shops, hospitals, and PLDT business offices, among others, in Metro Manila and soon in key provincial cities.

7th Asian Carriers’ Conference registers record turnout of delegates

MANILA, Philippines, October 18, 2011 – Almost 1,000 delegates from 45 countries attended the 7th Asian Carriers’ Conference (ACC), a telecommunications event organized by PLDT and Smart, at Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa in Cebu, September 27-30.

According to PLDT and Smart International and Carrier Business Head Alejandro O. Caeg, there was a record turnout this year despite the inclement weather, as delegates’ participation increased by over 23% compared to last year.
