The Philippines’ largest fully integrated telco, PLDT, marked another milestone as it leads the Jupiter Cable System landing ceremony in Daet, Camarines Norte. The inauguration of Jupiter’s Philippine link in the telco’s cable landing station was attended by Camarines Norte Vice Governor Joseph Ascutia, Mayor Benito Ochoa of the municipality of Daet, and key PLDT executives.

PLDT and its wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) continue to clamp down on malicious text messages by going after internet links that aim to defraud customers. From June 10 to 28, 2022, PLDT and Smart’s Cybersecurity Operations Group (CSOG) has blocked more than a hundred URLs and domains tied to text scams bringing the total links blocked to 650 in the first half of 2022.
