PLDT and Smart Communications Inc. have given Filipino Olympians Carlos Yulo, Nesthy Petecio, and Aira Villegas, and their respective coaches and staff, a total of ₱21 million as reward for earning the Philippines its biggest number of medals at the recently concluded Olympic Games Paris 2024.

Like what writer, educator, and humanitarian Helen Keller said, “Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much.” This is particularly true for para-athletes, whose respective communities have been their support as they strive to become better each day.
To celebrate this year’s World Mental Health Day, PLDT Inc. (PLDT) and its wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) continue their advocacy to champion mental health and wellness through sports with the Better Today: Power Move Project.
In a country where basketball is revered, known to be the world’s home of makeshift courts, three Filipino gentlemen who either played hoops or cheered from the courtside, find themselves in the same corporate boardroom many years on strategizing their biggest coup yet: bringing over the world’s biggest basketball event, the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, to the Philippines.
