In line with its commitment to care for the environment as part of its sustainability initiatives, PLDT and Smart have enjoined its employees to take part in the 50th anniversary celebration of the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP). PBSP, the largest business-led, non-government organization (NGO), launched its NCR-wide XTrash Challenge for its 256 member companies.

In their most aggressive campaign yet against child abuse, PLDT and Smart clamp down more than 10,000 links on child abuse materials circulating on the internet. In the first half of June alone, they blocked access to more than 4,500 URLs and domains tied to online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC).

PLDT and its wireless arm Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) are broadening their engagement with stakeholders, ramping up their global fight against online child abuse and human trafficking. The two companies strengthened their support to the Department of Justice in collaborating and providing the government agency timely information in tracking perpetrators at the community level.

MVP group provides bikes to indigent Pasiguenos, PNP contact tracers

In a bid to help people commute to work safely or make a living in a pandemic, the foundations of the companies led by Manuel V Pangilinan have initially given away 70 bicycles to indigents in Pasig and 50 to government contract tracers. The donations under its Bike for Livelihood initiative were made in celebration of the World Bicycle Day on June 3, as declared by the United Nations.
