For promoting and sustaining quality learning amid the COVID-19 global crisis, several local government units (LGUs) in North Luzon were recognized by and granted communications support from PLDT Inc. and its wireless subsidiary Smart Communications.

It was truly a July night to remember after Filipina weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz won an historic gold medal for the Philippines at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. One of her avid supporters, PLDT and MVP Sports Foundation (MVPSF) Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan cried tears of joy as soon as he heard the news.

In the middle of a pandemic, emotions remain high. Sometimes, it’s all over the place. But mostly, it demands to be felt. Providing mental health support to its employees, PLDT and Smart launched its Mind Your Health program last year, which is a series of online talks that invite clinical experts and mental health advocates to talk about various mental health issues that range from dealing with mental illnesses and mental health advocacy campaigns.

PLDT and Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) are sending at least 1,300 relief packs to flooded communities in Batangas, Occidental and Oriental Mindoro.

PLDT and Smart continue to provide small-scale farmers with access to sure market and capital funding. Partnering with social enterprise Cropital, Smart extends funding aid to rice growers across Luzon through the ‘Buy Local’ program.

PLDT’s wireless arm Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) has teamed up with the Commission on Elections’ (COMELEC) official Voter Registration Information Campaign partner - Vote Pilipinas – to encourage more Filipinos to register for the 2022 elections. Spearheaded by the non-government organization Impact Hub Manila, Vote Pilipinas offers non-profit, non-partisan online and offline information about the upcoming elections.  

PLDT and its wireless arm Smart Communications, Inc. have partnered with the Philippine National Police in the construction of a Multi-Purpose Building at Camp BGen Oscar M Florendo, Parian, City of San Fernando in La Union, as part of PLDT and Smart's overall efforts to assist the needs of communities and public institutions like the PNP.

PLDT wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. kicked off the Philippine National Disaster Resilience Month with the launch of the #SafePH disaster preparedness online caravan.  

PLDT and Smart, together with the PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF), turned over around 1,000 food packs to three municipalities in Batangas as aid to families displaced by Taal Volcano’s renewed activity.

Supporting the government’s call, PLDT and Smart have enabled the Local Government of Cebu City to bring vaccines to hard-to-reach communities.
