With more businesses going digital in the pandemic, PLDT urges the implementation of extensive cybersecurity measures to prevent, combat, and mitigate cyber threats and attacks.
As the world celebrates Safer Internet Day on February 9, 2021, PLDT, the country’s largest integrated telco and its wireless subsidiary, Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart), are expanding efforts to fight online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC).
PLDT and its wireless unit, Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart), are urging lawmakers to amend 'conflicting provisions' of RA 9775 or the Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009 to boost efforts in curtailing online sexual abuse and exploitation of children.
PLDT is ramping up its efforts to protect children from online predators. The telco said it has blocked more than 2,900 sites linked to online sexual abuse and exploitation of children. PLDT added that it is constantly working with the government to beef up cyber defenses against these crimes.
