PLDT Inc., the leading telco and only fully integrated ICT service provider in the country, has commenced construction of its 11th and largest hyperscale data center facility to expand its network of world-class data centers and position the Philippines as the next digital hub and destination in Asia Pacific.  

From over 80 submissions, promising start up Nudgyt bested the top 10 entries with in the first PLDT and Smart Start Up Challenge with its Behaviorial Science-powered Artificial Intelligence program similar to the fictional AI Marvel assistant J.A.R.V.I.S. (Just a really very intelligent system).

Empowering startups and championing innovations, PLDT recently took part in Philippine Start Up Week’s conversations on the future of corporate innovation.

Against the backdrop of a highly competitive landscape, PLDT outpaced industry rivals in fiber, mobile and fixed-wireless businesses.

PLDT is set to exceed its one million new fiber customers target for the year as it breached the 800,000 new installations mark as of end-September. PLDT also sustained its quarterly record in marketshare gains among telco providers.

In Misamis Oriental, residents of Brgy. San Juan, Gingoog City are among the more than 324,000 new fiber customers connected by PLDT across the country in the third quarter alone.

PLDT and its wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) have joined other global telcos in exploring next-generation technology to make its network more efficient, resilient, flexible, and intelligent.

Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) and Aboitiz Foundation, the social development arm of the Aboitiz Group, have teamed up to boost the digital capacities of local cooperatives and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) nationwide through 'Aboitiz Smart Cooperatives'.

PLDT was recently cited as having outstanding scores among global telco providers for its network design and rollout in the Key Architecture Index (KAI) 2.0 report featured during the recent Ultra Broadband Forum by the International Data Corporation (IDC) held in Dubai. The recognition underscores PLDT’s laser focus on elevating customer experience, which drives all network and technology initiatives across the company.

Customers of PLDT and its wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc (Smart) in all three islands of Romblon province can now enjoy an improved data experience following the activation of PLDT's fiber optic links connecting the islands--the first telco to connect the province via fiber.
