PLDT and its wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) are expanding the partnership with Avon Philippines with the Davao leg of digital trainings under the eBizNovation program. The initiative aims to support the digital growth of Avon’s community of women entrepreneurs, by strengthening their selling skills and boosting productivity with 5G technology and digital tools.
Avon representatives from the Davao region participated in the session, which featured practical lessons in content creation for social media, as well as basic smartphone photography and videography - tools intended to elevate their online presence and support their day-to-day operations.
The training also emphasized the importance of digital safety through the BeCyberSmart program, PLDT and Smart’s campaign on safe and responsible online practices. This is especially crucial as more transactions and engagements continue to shift into digital spaces.
“I learned a lot. The session on scams was very helpful. Now we know how to spot suspicious messages and what to do if we receive one. I also picked up useful tips on digital marketing and content creation,” shared Avon Sales Leader Mylyn Pintor. “Thank you, PLDT and Smart, for sharing programs that truly help our business.”
This collaboration highlights the importance of a shared commitment to empower grassroots entrepreneurs, especially women, by equipping them with the confidence and capabilities needed to thrive in a fast-changing digital economy. This program also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), particularly Goal 1: No Poverty, Goal 5: Gender Equality, and Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
