Complementing these efforts, PLDT Enterprise has deployed free Starlink-powered WiFi services in earthquake-affected communities, including General Santos City, Sarangani, Glan, Jose Abad Santos, and parts of Davao Occidental. Advisory 4: PLDT Group Brings Connectivity and Relief Support to Earthquake-Affected Communities
[June 11, 2026 5p.m.] To help support critical communications following the recent earthquake in southern Mindanao, PLDT Enterprise, the B2B arm of the PLDT Group, has partnered with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the local government units of General Santos, Saranggani, and South Cotabato, to deploy Starlink connectivity in key Mindanao hospitals, now operational at the Malungon Sarangani Provincial Hospital, Alabel Sarangani Provincial Hospital. The deployment forms part of the Group's communications-as-aid initiatives to support emergency response and recovery efforts in affected communities.
Together with its social outreach arm, PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF), PLDT and Smart have begun distributing the first tranche of relief assistance to affected families. The assistance includes food packs, potable water, and hot meals. Libreng Tawag (including free NDD calls), Libreng Charging, and Libreng WiFi services also remain available in General Santos City; Glan, Sarangani; and Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental. Smart and TNT subscribers in affected areas also received emergency load assistance to help them communicate with loved ones and access important information.
The Group continues to work closely with the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), DRRMOs, local government units, government agencies, and community partners in ongoing relief efforts. Advisory 2: PLDT, Smart extend communications support in earthquake-hit General Santos
[June 9, 2026, 10 a.m.] As response efforts continue following the recent earthquake in Mindanao, PLDT and Smart are providing communications support to local government units, emergency responders, and affected communities in General Santos City.
The PLDT Group immediately provided connectivity support to the General Santos City command center, enabling responders to coordinate relief, emergency response, and recovery operations amid widespread commercial power outages and the city's declaration of a State of Calamity.

Advisory: PLDT, Smart teams mobilize to restore connectivity following Mindanao earthquake
[June 8, 2026, 8 p.m.] PLDT and Smart have immediately mobilized field and operations teams to assess network facilities and restore connectivity services in areas affected by the recent earthquake that struck parts of Mindanao.
Among the hardest-hit areas are General Santos City and several municipalities in South Cotabato. Initial assessments indicate that the majority of PLDT and Smart network facilities remain stable and operational. Service interruptions have primarily been linked to commercial power outages affecting certain sites.

To support emergency response efforts and ensure continuous communications, PLDT will deploy Starlink satellite broadband services to critical locations and areas identified by local government units as requiring backup connectivity.
“Safety remains our foremost priority as our teams conduct assessments and restoration activities on the ground. At the same time, we recognize the vital role connectivity plays during emergencies and are working tirelessly to keep communities connected,” PLDT said.
