As the Philippines faces the twin challenges of narrowing the digital divide and protecting its megadiverse ecosystems, PLDT and Smart are continuing to embed biodiversity safeguards into their network rollout and supply chain operations.

PLDT and Smart have expressed strong support for the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ new landmark policy reform aimed at boosting the green economy and streamlining forest land management to enable the expansion of digital infrastructure.

PLDT and its wireless unit Smart have respectively established policies to conserve biodiversity, prevent net deforestation, and support nature-based solutions as they continue to expand presence and roll out network infrastructure across the country.
