Recognizing the group’s efforts to deliver more reliable, resilient, and environmentally responsible services to its customers, PLDT and Smart were recently honored with the Success Story Award by the Pollution Control Association of the Philippines Inc.

PLDT achieved a score of “B” or a “Management” rating in the 2024 CDP assessment, a notch higher than its previous “B-” rating, demonstrating continuing progress in its environmental disclosures and performance.

PLDT and its wireless subsidiary Smart now have over 100 Certified Energy Managers comprised of their network operations and facilities management personnel, reinforcing their commitment to operational resource efficiency and compliance with environmental management regulations.

PLDT and its wireless unit Smart have respectively established policies to conserve biodiversity, prevent net deforestation, and support nature-based solutions as they continue to expand presence and roll out network infrastructure across the country.

As more communities strive to adopt circular practices and recognize the need for proper e-waste disposal, PLDT and Smart are gearing up to further expand their program on e-waste and support more localized ecosystems for responsible e-waste management.

PLDT Inc. made it into the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2025, a distinguished listing of the world’s best performing companies in corporate sustainability.

PLDT and wireless unit Smart continue to reinforce environmental, social, and governance best practices among partners and suppliers. In a recent forum, Chief Sustainability Officer Melissa V. Vergel de Dios presented PLDT and Smart’s sustainability roadmap to a new batch of local and international tier-one suppliers and business partners.
