In 2013, when he was brought to the Philippine Eagle Center in Davao City, the brown and white eagle was weak and sickly. He needed caring and nurturing from kind and compassionate people whom he found in the Center. He recovered and got his eagle-strength back and, after three years, was released back to the forest in the Obu-Manuvu ancestral domain in Brgy. Carmen, Baguio District in Davao City.

PLDT, Smart fire up Ateneo as PH’s first 'Smart 5G campus'

PLDT wireless arm Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ateneo de Manila University to partner in the development of next-generation applications and services that will run on Smart’s 5G wireless network.

Under the MoU, PLDT-Smart, together with their technology partner Nokia, will help set up the Ateneo’s Convergent Technologies Center with a 5G lab — enabling the university’s students and tech experts to co-develop practical and relevant solutions.

Sixteen-year-old Iva Jamelarin, a student-achiever from Iloilo, wrote a poem, presented it in class, and uploaded the recording on her Facebook account. Little did she know that this would go viral on the internet and change her family’s life.

“I did not expect that kind of reception with my spoken word performance. I was just thankful that I was able to express my feelings and gratitude towards my mother,” Jamelarin said in Filipino.

Her mother, Eva Jamelarin, is an overseas Filipino working in Hong Kong.
