Following the onslaught of Super Typhoon Odette in the Visayas and Mindanao, Filipinos everywhere can join the bayanihan with the PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF), PLDT, Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart), and PayMaya.

With restoration efforts of network facilities in full swing, PLDT, Inc. and wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc have reconnected Cebu, Dinagat, Siargao, and Surigao using Smart satellite phones.

PLDT and wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) have restored wireless services in most parts of Mindanao after the southern Philippine region was pounded by typhoon Odette.

PLDT wireless communication Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is first to respond to typhoon-hit residents in Barangay Mabua in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur. Smart, together with local partners BizTalk and F&H Marketing, deployed an emergency generator set, which powered the covered court-turned evacuation center, where around 74 families sought shelter.

PLDT's wireless subsidiary Smart Communications won the Social Contribution Award at the 2021 Asia Communication Awards (ACA 2021) for its FarmSmart agriculture advocacy. The initiative covers the Digital Farmers Program (DFP) and BuyLocal, which aim to help create future-ready and prosperous Filipino farmers through technology, innovation, and collaboration.

PLDT and Smart have activated quick response teams to ensure customers remain connected all throughout as the tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) east of Mindanao continues to approach the southern Philippine region.

Enabling disadvantaged Filipinos to celebrate a happier Christmas this year and ensuring that it’s Tuloy Pa Rin Ang Pasko despite life’s challenges, the PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF) teamed up with Smart Communications, PLDT Home, PayMaya, and Fiberhome Philippines to provide noche buena packs, vitamins, and t-shirts to jeepney drivers and operators of Barangays Payatas and Bagong Silangan in Quezon City.

A record number of LGUs and organizations have partnered with PLDT and Smart to champion mental health across the country. Among them are General Santos (GenSan), Tarlac, La Union, Lingayen, and Baguio. Organizations such as the Youth for Mental Health Coalition and #MentalHealthPH also collaborated with PLDT and Smart to create safe spaces online for the youth.
