PLDT and its wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) are assuring their customers of continued service amid the renewed community restrictions in various areas nationwide. This, as the country braces for the new surge of infections due to the Delta variant of COVID-19.

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) partnered with the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF), Manila Water, and Maynilad to launch the inaugural Philippine Water Challenge (PhlWC), the first-ever platform to generate water and sanitation solutions in the country. More than 700 participants from the water sector joined the virtual launch event. The PDRF is under the shared leadership of Manuel V Pangilinan, Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, and Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle (Prefect for the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples).

To commemorate the World Day Against Trafficking in July, PLDT and Smart Communications, Inc. showcased efforts and digital solutions in curbing online sexual abuse and exploitation of children during the Department of Justice Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (DOJ-IACAT) online forum on “Prevention and Elimination of Human Trafficking Activities in the Cyberspace.”

PLDT and its wireless arm Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) have expressed their support for government initiatives to ensure fair competition in the industry, adding that these boost PLDT and Smart's efforts to improve customer experience.

For promoting and sustaining quality learning amid the COVID-19 global crisis, several local government units (LGUs) in North Luzon were recognized by and granted communications support from PLDT Inc. and its wireless subsidiary Smart Communications.

Providing mental health support to its employees, PLDT and Smart launched its Mind Your Health program last year, which is a series of online talks that invite clinical experts and mental health advocates to talk about various mental health issues that range from dealing with mental illnesses and mental health advocacy campaigns.

PLDT and Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) are sending at least 1,300 relief packs to flooded communities in Batangas, Occidental and Oriental Mindoro.

PLDT and Smart continue to provide small-scale farmers with access to sure market and capital funding. Partnering with social enterprise Cropital, Smart extends funding aid to rice growers across Luzon through the ‘Buy Local’ program.

PLDT’s wireless arm Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) has teamed up with the Commission on Elections’ (COMELEC) official Voter Registration Information Campaign partner - Vote Pilipinas – to encourage more Filipinos to register for the 2022 elections. Spearheaded by the non-government organization Impact Hub Manila, Vote Pilipinas offers non-profit, non-partisan online and offline information about the upcoming elections.
