PLDT, Smart Libreng Tawag sites remain active in Ilocos Sur, Abra

Dale M. Ramos, First Vice President and Head of Network Build and Fulfilment at PLDT and Smart, has passed on. He was 49. 

ADVISORY 06 [16 June 2022] As of 4 pm Philippine Standard Time, PLDT and Smart, together with PLDT-Smart Foundation, TV 5 and Alagang Kapatid Foundation, extended aid to families affected by the eruption of Mt. Bulusan in Sorsogon.

The PLDT Group and PSF, in close coordination with other MVP-led organizations, distributed 500 packs of relief assistance, as well as 10,000 face masks and 10,000 vitamin tablets in the following areas:

As of 8 a.m. Philippine Standard Time, PLDT and Smart have activated their Libreng Tawag (free calls) at Libreng Charging (free charging) stations.

PLDT has fully restored its fixed services in Negros Island while its mobile services arm Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) has fully restored its wireless services in Bohol after super typhoon Odette devastated the two provinces toward the end of 2021.

Despite the continued absence of commercial power in some locations and re-work due to clearing operations as well as incidents of cable theft, PLDT Inc. and its wireless unit Smart Communications Inc. have restored services by up to 99% for wireless customers and 86% for fixed customers in the Visayas, following the onslaught of Super Typhoon Odette.

PLDT and its wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) are assuring their customers of continued service amid tighter community restrictions in various areas nationwide. This, as the country braces for the new surge of infections due to the Omicron variant of COVID-19.

As of 9 a.m. today, December 19, for Mindanao wireless, 96% of sites are up. Remaining down sites are mostly in Surigao del Norte including Siargao, Misamis Oriental and Dinagat Islands. Our fixed service is 99% up, with the 6 remaining nodes down due to commercial power failure.
