Advisory: PLDT and Smart help habagat-affected families reconnect and reach out for help

Families affected by the habagat in Central Luzon are getting support to reconnect with loved ones, access important information, and reach out for help. TNT and Smart Prepaid subscribers in heavily affected areas, particularly those who have been flooded or evacuated from their homes, received Emergency Load Assistance (ELA) to help them communicate during the weather disturbance.

Load assistance from the PLDT Group initially covered affected communities in Bataan, Bulacan, Pampanga, and Zambales. PLDT and Smart have also deployed Libreng Tawag and Libreng Charging sites to benefit affected residents. Stations are currently operational at: 

• F. Mendoza ES, Brgy Sapang Bayan, Calumpit, Bulacan
• Brgy Lara BJMP Megadike Kayabe Evacuation Center, San Fernando, Pampanga

Support also extends beyond communications. PLDT and Smart have mobilized relief operations for affected communities in Central Luzon, with the first batch of relief packs provided by the Group's social outreach arm, PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF), in Apalit, Sto. Tomas, and San Simon in Pampanga. Remaining relief packages will be distributed in the coming days. PLDT and Smart will also continue to coordinate with local government units and disaster response partners to identify communities most in need of support.
