Taking urgent notice of the disturbing rise in online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC) content, PLDT and Smart are stepping up efforts with partners to protect children through awareness campaigns, community education, and stronger digital safeguards.

At the recent 2025 AngelNet Summit organized by the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group, Smart urged the attendees to be mindful of what they share online.

PLDT and wireless unit Smart help instill safe online practices among college students at Far Eastern University in Manila and senior high school students at Jose Rizal University in Mandaluyong, as tools powered by artificial intelligence become more accessible.

PLDT and Smart have partnered with Kids for Kids PH and the Positive Youth Development Network to develop a storybook that advocates for children's rights and promotes online child safety titled "Ang Paglalakbay ni Tala (The Adventures of Tala)."
