PLDT and its wireless unit Smart are collaborating with International Justice Mission Philippines to support the government’s response and efforts to cooperate with the international community amid rising cases of online sexual abuse and exploitation of children.

PLDT and Smart express support for Quezon City in its bid to protect children in the digital space and clamp down on local cases of online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC).

PLDT and Smart strengthen the fight against OSAEC through a learning session titled "Better Today for Kids: Bata Bata Kami ang Iyong Kasangga," which aims to train teachers, parents, students, and youth leaders on how to become the first-line of safety and protection of their families in the digital world.

PLDT and Smart have partnered with Kids for Kids PH and the Positive Youth Development Network to develop a storybook that advocates for children's rights and promotes online child safety titled "Ang Paglalakbay ni Tala (The Adventures of Tala)."

PLDT ranked second in the world overall in the Global Child Forum Benchmark Report 2024, in recognition of its leading practices in integrating children’s rights into the areas of governance, workplace, marketplace, community and environment.

PLDT and its wireless unit Smart bolster their child online protection initiatives in Visayas by conducting the “Better Today for Kids: Bata, Bata Kami ang Iyong Kasangga” learning caravan, in the municipalities of Daanbantayan in Cebu and Miagao in Iloilo.

PLDT and its wireless unit Smart boost their efforts to fight online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC). In August alone, PLDT and Smart’s Cyber Security Operations Group blocked access to more than 400,000 URLs that host child sexual abuse and exploitation materials (CSAEM).
