PLDT, the largest fully integrated telecommunications company in the Philippines, is booking an early ride to the green highway. As one of the country’s pioneers in sustainability, the company will be including electric vehicles (EV) to augment its present fleet of service vehicles. EVs are environment friendly as they have lower carbon emissions compared with vehicles powered by internal combustion engines (ICE).

(Smart) is seeing growth for its ‘fixed wireless’ business, with demand for quality connectivity continuing to increase as people shelter in place amid the renewed surge of COVID-19 cases. Fixed wireless refers to wifi modems that connect multiple devices to Smart LTE but have to stay plugged into power, making it ‘fixed’.

The Philippines' largest fully integrated telecommunications company PLDT is set to further expand its network bandwidth capacity, with its participation in the construction of the newest international undersea cable system, APRICOT. This will boost the telco’s network capability to service the country’s growing data traffic driven by more digital services and new technologies such as 5G, and adds to the country’s advantage to help draw in global hyperscalers expanding in the region.
