Women farmers in Northern Luzon are leading a technology-driven transformation. In a region where agriculture fuels local economies, women are leveraging tech to modernize their farms, boost productivity, and secure better incomes.

“Naranasan ko pong hindi kumain noon bata ako.” This was what 49-year-old Ilocana farmer and community leader Arlene Lopez said when she recalled her challenging childhood, growing up and losing their farm in a land dispute.

PLDT and wireless unit Smart continue to enhance the capabilities of rice farmers, particularly in Mindanao, through the Digital Farmers Program, a partnership with the Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Training Institute.

As Philippine agriculture embraces innovation, PLDT and its wireless unit Smart Communications bring technology closer to Filipino farmers through the Digital Farmers Program.

PLDT and Smart, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Training Institute and the Mennonite Economic Development Associates, are set to equip cacao farmers with digital technology while promoting sustainable farming practices for the cacao industry in Mindanao.

He has expressed appreciation for PLDT and Smart’s Digital Farmers Program, which will be offered to cacao farmers in partnership with the Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Training Institute and Mennonite Economic Development Associates.
