For smallholders to truly thrive in the digital economy, technology is already a given; what drives the shift to digital agriculture is a fully integrated ecosystem — where infrastructure, service delivery, adoption enablement, and partnerships work together to turn access into impact. 

To provide farmers and extension workers access to digital learning and training tools, DA-ATI Region 10 in partnership with PLDT and Smart equipped farmer-trainers in Alubijid, Misamis Oriental with a FarmTech package. 

PLDT and Smart have once again been recognized for helping empower Filipino farmers, fishermen and MSMEs with digital technologies.

PLDT and Smart supported the Global Agribusiness Management and Entrepreneurship Exposition 2024 organized by the College of Economics and Management of UP Los Baños in partnership with the Philippines Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture (PPSA).

PLDT and wireless unit Smart participated in the Farmers Congress held recently in Talavera, Nueva Ecija, where nearly a thousand farmers learned about various programs and innovations they could utilize to improve their harvest and increase their income.

PLDT and Smart in partnership with DA-ATI turned over a FarmTech training kit to the Integrated Carcar Rice Irrigators Association in Carcar City, Cebu, to help enhance the digital literacy of farmers.

PLDT and Smart recently partnered with Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA), creating more opportunities for Filipino cacao farmers through digital solutions and capacity-strengthening initiatives for the industry.   The move expands PLDT Group’s Digital Farmers Program (DFP), helping scale up digital inclusion and mobile internet literacy.
