PLDT and Smart are expanding their mission to keep communities safe from digital-aided forms of crime, via #BeCyberSmart in Occidental Mindoro.

PLDT and its wireless unit Smart boost their efforts to fight online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC). In August alone, PLDT and Smart’s Cyber Security Operations Group blocked access to more than 400,000 URLs that host child sexual abuse and exploitation materials (CSAEM).

PLDT and Smart are working closely with the government to further protect customers in line with efforts to strengthen the security and resilience of the country’s cyberspace under the National Cybersecurity Plan 2023-2038, as articulated by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in his SONA 2024.

PLDT and Smart expand the reach of business owners in Tanauan, Batangas, by helping them adopt digital innovations. Through an event organized by PLDT Enterprise to support the growth of MSMEs, at least 150 entrepreneurs were introduced to e-commerce platforms under the PLDT Group’s eBizNovation program.

Over 200 senior citizens from Carcar City, Cebu, participated in a mental health awareness and digital literacy training session conducted by PLDT and Smart in partnership with the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs and Passerelles Numériques Philippines.

PLDT Home and Smart Communications, Inc. supported the Basic Internet Crimes Against Children Training for law enforcement officers in Cebu, organized by International Justice Mission Philippines and Bidlisiw Foundation Inc.

In a report submitted by Smart to CICC, the telco reiterated its compliance to the SIM registration law, having incorporated the necessary enhancements and verification mechanisms that its regulators the NTC had required all telcos to implement in December 2023.

PLDT and wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. intensify the fight against scammers, clamping down on those that use fraudulently registered SIMs to commit crimes.

PLDT and wireless unit Smart are working closely with the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center to clamp down on scam hubs to protect Filipinos from being victimized by fraudsters.

Smart warns customers to double-check links that are included in unsolicited SMS, even those supposedly coming from the network itself. Smart's legitimate domain is https://www.smart.com.ph and any other iteration is fake.
