PLDT and wireless unit Smart reiterate commitment to uphold diversity, equity, and inclusion and human rights in the workplace, as the world celebrates Pride Month.

PLDT Inc. and its wireless unit, Smart Communications, Inc. bagged major honors at the 2024 Tambuli Awards. This year’s winners were announced at a ceremony held recently at Grand Hyatt, Manila.

Smart also called on the Government to exercise oversight on the legitimate use of cell site simulators, which have been found to be used by scammers as ‘fake cell towers’ for sending out text scams to mobile users.

PLDT Global enhances its global network footprint with the addition of GUAM to its roster of physical points-of-presence in Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and Los Angeles in the US.

Smart posted an 11% year-on-year growth in mobile data revenues in the first quarter of the year on the back of increased mobile data usage.

Over 100 Maranao entrepreneurs recently learned how to create engaging content and promote their businesses and products via e-commerce during a training organized by PLDT and its wireless unit Smart in partnership with the provincial government of Lanao del Sur.

Smart warns the public that scammers use ‘fake cell towers’ to send text scams to mobile users, and even use ‘Smart’ as the sender name. These devices are able to lock on to mobile phones within a specified radius, enabling the scammers to push messages directly to subscribers’ devices without having to go through its network.

PLDT and wireless subsidiary Smart are urging subscribers in Mindanao to remain vigilant against suspicious, telco service-related incidents in their areas, including the theft of and damage to cables and other telco equipment, which is among the leading causes of service disruptions.

Smart warns customers to double-check links that are included in unsolicited SMS, even those supposedly coming from the network itself. Smart's legitimate domain is https://www.smart.com.ph and any other iteration is fake.

PLDT and Smart are boosting efforts to create a safer work environment, a key part of a much broader program to advance disaster resilience. Together with BFP Makati, PLDT-Smart Property and Facilities Asset Resiliency Management Sector organized emergency drills at the PLDT Ramon Cojuangco Building and Smart Tower in Makati.
