PLDT and wireless unit Smart Communications Inc. report the network has remained resilient following the onslaught of "Enteng," assuring customers continued services.

International students from Chosun University in South Korea tried their hands on upcoming cutting-edge technologies at the PLDT and Smart Technolab in Makati. The students are part of an exchange program with De La Salle Araneta University’s Lasallian Language Center in Malabon, Metro Manila.

PLDT and wireless unit Smart warn customers against vishing, or phishing over voice calls. Smart had earlier reported a marked decline in SMShing, or phishing over SMS, after it activated its new and more advanced network firewall.

Strengthening the MSME digitalization program of the DTI, DTI Davao City, PLDT Enterprise, and Smart Communications Inc. recently conducted a series of online entrepreneurship trainings joined by more than 130 business owners from the Davao Region.

PLDT Group, together with DICT, turned over a School-in-a-Bag package to Sta. Cruz National High School in the Island Garden City of Samal, to help elevate the quality of education especially in hard-to-reach areas.

Thirty-one persons with disabilities in Daanbantayan, northern Cebu, successfully completed an eight-day Digital Business Basics Training (DBBT) facilitated by ATRIEV or Adaptive Technology for Rehabilitation, Integration, and Empowerment of the Visually Impaired. This activity was conducted in partnership with PLDT Inc., Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart), and NORFIL Foundation, Inc.

Through an event organized by PLDT Home under its Fiber Talk series, aspiring entrepreneur-residents of Torre de Manila in Ermita, Manila, were introduced to digital entrepreneurship under the PLDT Group’s eBizNovation program. 

In celebration of National Resilience Month, PLDT and Smart, together with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF) and Huawei Philippines recently concluded a capacity-building workshop to strengthen the emergency communications capabilities of the DICT.

PLDT and wireless unit Smart Communications Inc. team up with the National Council on Disability Affairs to launch InnoGen 4.0, with the theme “Innovation for All.” The program calls on the tech-savvy youth to pitch their technology-enabled solution that empowers persons with disabilities.

More than 5,000 participants, composed of representatives of micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises, farmers, cooperatives, government agencies, and non-government organizations learned more about artificial intelligence and how to harness its potential to enhance businesses.
